You are welcome to our world of extracurricular activities:
There is a broad extracurricular programme providing enriching opportunities for pupils to develop new skills, participate in sports and enjoy a range of creative and musical activities either during or after school in such moments as movie lounging, pool side time out or indoor game events.
Creative Arts:
Arts: In the School of Arts, scholars develop their imaginative and artistic talents working with a broad range of materials. Small class sizes mean that our pupils are able to cultivate their own unique forms of self expression in an encouraging and supportive environment. The standard of Art practice in our school is extremely high. In addition to our creative curriculum we celebrate Art through the many displays around the school, entering Art competitions, exhibiting students’ work in galleries and organizing visits to see exhibitions.
Sports:
Work within Physical Education is designed to support, contribute to, and complement the aims of the school. Physical Education at JMA provides an enjoyable, satisfying and balanced approach for all students to develop physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively. The curriculum is taught by specialist PE teachers and is designed to offer a comprehensive range of experiences through which students are encouraged to develop the personal qualities of commitment, fairness and enthusiasm.
JMA offers students varied programmes of physical activities that is constantly reviewed and updated. Students at JMA are encouraged to widen their interests beyond the curriculum, and are welcome to attend clubs and after school activities regardless of ability. All students are given the opportunity to represent their House in the sports competitions that take place throughout the year, in both the junior and senior parts of the school. JMA successfully participates in sporting events locally, regionally, and nationally. This provides opportunities for students to achieve their potential in the competitive field.
However, we also recognize that tolerance, good sportsmanship and the appreciation of one’s own and others’ strengths and weaknesses are an important part of the learning process. We teach the value of exercise and fitness; healthy habits and social cooperation.
